I was doing a bit of soul searching in recent months before finally decide to become a full time internet entrepreneur. I stumbled across this information in other online business related website and wish to share it here.

Definition of Entrepreneur

An entrepreneur is a person who operates a new enterprise or venture and assumes some accountability for the inherent risks. The term is a loanword from French and was first defined by the Irish economist Richard Cantillon. A female entrepreneur is sometimes known as an entrepreneuse.

A study was carried out on a group of entrepreneurs to rate a list of given attributes according to their importance for success.

The 7 following qualities were most highly ranked by the participants of that study;

1. Perseverance

2. The desire and willingness to take initiative

3. Competitiveness

4. Self-reliance

5. A strong need to achieve

6. Self-confidence

7. Good physical health

Although I believe this study was done for offline type of entrepreneurship, I would suggest the list is still very much relevant but with due consideration to the absence of face to face human interaction.
